Talking Queer is a podcast series produced by the GALA Queer Archive. In eight episodes, our host Caio Araújo (Wits University) speaks to writers, scholars, artists and activists working in various locations. Our goal to create a conversation around issues of queer histories, memories and archives, arts and representation, LGBTIQ activism, and other things queer. In this episode we speak to three members of The Nest collective, a multidisciplinary arts collective based in Nairobi, Kenya. Jim Chuchu is a filmmaker, musician, and a visual artist. Akati Khasiani is a storyteller and musician. Njoki Ngumi is an artist, writer, and feminist thinker. Among other things, we discuss the Stories of Our Lives project, a collection of queer narratives from across Kenya.
